Mrs. Cindy getting some painting done in the underworld of the rooftop!

Hello hello hello!

Today was extremely busy and productive at the job site. Everyone was given a specific task in order to get things done in a more timely matter. We are getting close to being done, but we still have lots to do. Please be praying that we can get everything done by tomorrow at noon. We are doing jobs such as painting, scraping away old paint, priming wood, replacing wood, etc.

Before the last wall got painted, a leader from a church in California called a group meeting together. He expressed that we wanted us to bless the last wall by writing on the old paint in pencil. Our messages consisted of prayers, songs, and inspiring words. After writing on the wall, each one of us laid our hand on the wall and prayed over the building. It was an awesome time for everyone to come together for something so powerful.

We were also blessed today with a group of about 30 people from "Valencia Volunteers." I guess they are from a local community service and/or volunteer organization. Their help definitely sped up the process of what needed to get done.

We were invited by the group from St. Petersburg to enjoy a spaghetti dinner with them at 5:30 pm. Because of our dinner plans and the fact that a lot of painting still needed to be done, we ended up staying at the church to work. It was a great thing that we stayed an extra few hours because we got an incredible amount of work done! We got back to the hotel around 8:45 pm. Right now, I think everyone is taking looong showers and probably resting their feet in bed!

Thanks again for your heart-felt prayers and your faithfulness. We love you, and think of ya'll often.

The lunch crew who brings sack lunches to each job site has used...
-743 lbs of peanut butter, 356 lbs of jelly, and 320,000 slices of bread!

  1. This is my favorite post so far. I love the writing on the wall and then praying for the church. Thanks for taking time to take pictures. That adds so much to your writing of the days events.
It sounds like you all have really worked hard. I know that has been difficult but it sounds like it has also been gratifying. I am so proud of each of you! I hope you get plenty of rest tonight and get the job done tomorrow.
We love each of you and are so, so, so, so, so proud of you!

  2. It has been GREAT reading about what y'all are doing and the pix are neat, too ( especially Lonnie sleeping - makes you wonder, huh? ) . Thanks for all you have done in the name of our renowned Savior. I have prayed for you and I know you are seeing and understanding more about the servanthood of Christ. And now, as you wind down, I hope that you will have a blast at Disney World and try to take a picture of Lonnie sleeping somewhere in the park - maybe next to the Sleeping Beauty area. Be safe coming home and please pray for Jennifer, Stephanie, Andrew and I as we head to Guatemala on another mission trip. I love you Nizzies !! (Dick B.)

  3. Wow, I am definitely impressed w/your painting - good work! It sure has been neat to hear & see what all you've been up to. I appreciate the time & sacrifice you've made in keeping us informed. We look forward to reading your blog every day. I've forwarded the blog site to a few friends & family members who've supported the trip. Even though they haven't logged on as to following, you've got other people following you and praying for you. What an inspiration it is to see ya'll coming together in prayer and fellowship with other volunteers AND labor! It seems like you've really kept your focus and I'm so very proud of you and for you and know that God is doing great things through you. Keep up the good work! I'll be praying for you to finish up WELL so you'll indeed be ready for that awesome trip to Disney! Have fun and know you're all in my prayers.

Cindy, looks like you made it through the headache - yeah! What a daring pose on the roof!

Andrew, great job with the pictures! I wouldn't mind seeing a few of you in here - maybe you could pass the camera to someone else so we could catch a glimpse of you before your next adventure. I did note the 1st picture of you jumping on the bed. Still, it would be nice to see you w/a paintbrush in your hands, too. We'll be praying for your trip to Quatemala - sounds like God has really been warming your heart up for the next adventure. Are the peanut butter & jelly sandwiches getting you geared up for Quatemala?

Steph/Kayli, thanks for your recounting of the stories of adventure you're on. I know it had to be a sacrifice at times when you were really tired after a long day of work. I especially enjoy the ending note of your words w/the same letters - pretty creative!

Hey "Cowboy Lonnie" - what's w/all the sleeping during the day?! Sounds like we need to beef up our prayers for more sleeping time at night.

Take care, have a productive day, and have fun at Disney. Love, Christine
