First Day On the Road!

Hey Everyone!!

Its been quite the adventure today from pulling out of the church parking lot at 8:24 a.m. to pulling in to the hotel at 7:37 p.m.! It was slightly hard to keep up with the pastor, even though we were traveling at 70 mph (...the speed limit!) Although we still had 1/2 a tank of gas, our leaders decided to pull over for gas around noon. On the road, we noticed that Louisiana had a casino connected to almost every convenient store. Lame.

We stopped for lunch outside of Baton Rouge around 2:00 pm. There was a Burger King, Taco Bell, and a KFC all in the same parking lot...so of course we all split up. About two hours away from our destination, Stephanie realized that making faces and flailing her arms in the backseat would give other drivers some free entertainment. Lots of smiles were seen as well as a couple of angry smirks. Adam, Chandler, and Matt enjoyed watching Star Wars on the way in Van #2. Andrew, Kayli, Stephanie, and Andrea probably gave Ms. Kim and Mrs. Sharon a headache by singing and dancing for 3/4 of the way in Van #3. Taylor, Ricci, and Justin probably had their share of laughter with Pastor Lonnie in Van #1.

After unloading our junk in the Super 8 Motel, we headed to Arby's for dinner. Hopefully, we are each saving a little bit of money at every meal in order to have a nice, sit-down dinner in the future. Well right about now, everyone should be snuggled in bed, resting for another day of traveling! However, we (Kayli, Stephanie, and Andrea) are enjoying the last minutes of High School Musical 2 on Disney Channel :).
